In this webquest you are asked to think about and ultimately (re)define the concepts of success and dropout in the context of online education. In traditional learning environments (face-to-face education) educational success is mainly measured by whether an individual received an end-qualification (grade, certificate or diploma). In the online learning environments of MOOCs, this line of reasoning is also followed; if an individual earns a certificate this is regarded as success by the MOOC-provider. However, does that make sense as the respective learning contexts are completely different? Your quest is to dive into the world of online learning and (re)define the concepts of educational success and dropout (failure) taking into account the exceptional learning context.

Success and lots of fun on this quest!
